About Me
A little bit about me.....
Welcome to my adventures!
I’m Yolanda (Yoyo for short)
I’m so glad you decided to drop by. Grab yourself something to wet your whistle and feed your tastebuds while you relax and take a journey with me. To start off, here’s a little bit about me. I’m a mom, military spouse, veteran, cooking consultant, blogger, photographer, home cook, and a lover of anything involving food and travel. I LOVE to eat and travel. These two topics go hand in hand in my mind (that’s all that really matters….right???) This world I live in has blessed me with so many opportunities to travel and eat along the way. This blog is my way of sharing my adventures with you. My hope is that you will find some tips you can use on your next trip, step out and sample some delicious dishes while you’re out, and share some of your tips with me.
My Love Of Food
Hmmm….I think this all started when I was a little tike. I remember standing on a stool helping my mom stir macaroni for her baked mac and cheese when I was like 5. I’ve been in the kitchen cooking ever since. I’m from North Carolina, so I’m definitely a southern girl but I love ALL types of food. I’ve lived in a lot of different places which has helped expand my palette. Even though my palette is expanded, guess what my favorite food is….PIZZA!!! Go figure.
When it was time to strike off on my own I entered the military and served active duty for 6 1/2 years and then went into the Guard. After my time in the military, we had our first child and I really had a desire to stay home. I then became a, Independent Consultant with Pampered Chef ( which I still am to this day) which helped feed my desire to cook and teach others while using some of the best products available. I became a stay-at-home mom and have been a consultant for over 21 years now. Occasionally, I will share some of my favorite recipes and tools on my blog. Feel free to take a look at my website.
My Love Of Travel
I’ve always had the desire to travel. That was one of my reasons for joining the military. The first place they sent me was South Dakota……not quite what I was thinking. It didn’t take me long, though, to fall in love with the area. That’s where the traveling bug hit. Now I travel any chance I get. I enjoy seeing new places, meeting interesting people, and learning the culture of the country or city that I visit.
Two Worlds Collide
Have Food Will Travel (#hfwt) Blog was birthed so I could bring together some of my passions and share them with you. I figured there must be others out there that likes food and travel like me. I invite you to register for my newsletter so you don’t miss any of my posts. You can also follow me on the social media platforms below. Thanks again for stopping by and hanging out with me.
